TAIT Upgrades T630 Mobile Data Terminal

TAIT Custom Integration has announced an upgrade to the T630 Mobile Data Terminal, (MDT) to make the geofence alert capability compatible with the Absolute Automatic Vehicle Location software.

A major rail company customer required a Geofence (geographical boundary) application that would notify the dispatcher when a train approaches or leaves a station or other area. The Absolute AVL application is now able to recognize the format of a geofence alert sent from this model of MDT – providing firmware based geofencing capabilities that augment the software geofencing and alerting system already offered by Absolute.

The modified MDT firmware will have applications for any customer wishing to use the geofencing capabilities of the T630 MDT in conjunction with Absolute’s range of Fleet Management products.
