Pole Star has announced the release of a new mobile application for managing fleet security.
The application, which is available free on the iOS, Android and BlackBerry platforms, allows users of Pole Star’s popular Alert Advanced SSAS management system to manage security alerts sent by a ship.
The highly anticipated application features fully integrated maps that allow users to view a ship and its recent movements, poll it for up-to-date position data and reset the security alert.
In response to the publication of BMP4, Pole Star has released improvements to their package of Industry Zones.
Fleet Management and Alert Advanced customers can now benefit from the addition of the MSCHOA zone to their existing suite of Industry Zones including the UKMTO reporting zone, the Internationally Recognised Transit Corridors and Joint War Committee risk areas.
Radio Holland USA is now able to offer the complete Pole Star portfolio to their customers throughout North America. The business relationship between Pole Star and the Radio Holland Group is further strengthened with Radio Holland North America joining Radio Holland Netherlands in the distribution of the Pole Star product portfolio.
Today, over fifteen hundred vessels are contributing position reports to the Amver search and rescue plot via the Pole Star automatic Amver link.
In close collaboration with Amver, Pole Star developed the automatic link in 2008, allowing ship owners and operators to automatically send position reports directly to Amver, relieving the master of manually submitting position, deviation and final arrival reports.
