The South Pacific Forum Fisheries Agency (FFA) provides Monitoring, Control & Surveillance (MCS) policy and services to its members, to build national capacity to better control fishing in the Pacific; including Illegal, Unreported and Unknown (IUU) fishing. The FFA also provides VMS services to the Western & Central Pacific Fisheries Commission (WCPFC) and provides reporting services under the Vessel Day Scheme (VDS) - an access control and fishing-day trading scheme operated by several FFA member countries.

The world's largest Merchant Marine Fleet is managed by the Panama Maritime Authority (AMP). This includes over 8,000 ships in excess of 200 million Gross Registered Tons (GRT). Following an international competitive procurement process, with bids submitted by all major LRIT providers worldwide, our subsidiary Absolute Maritime Tracking Services (AMTS) was awarded a five year contract to supply LRIT services to the Panama Maritime Authority.

The Australian Fisheries Management Authority (AFMA) is the statutory authority responsible for the efficient management and sustainable use of Commonwealth fish resources on behalf of the Australian community. As part of those responsibilities, AFMA monitors over 400 vessels within the Australian Exclusive Economic Zone using a Vessel Monitoring System (VMS).

The traffic police in the world's second largest city Sao Paulo are using an Absolute Vehicle Tracking System. Supplied under subcontract to mobile radio supplier TAIT Mobile Communications System, and installed by local integrator Teleglobal S.A, the system monitors over 800 traffic police vehicles for the Municipal Department of Transportation located in Sao Paulo, Brazil – a metro area with over 18 million people.

TAIT Managing Director Michael Chick said, "This traffic police system is a high profile contract. To be chosen ahead of our major international competitors is a real coup". The selection also validated the use of the proved MPT-1327 radio standard. Mr. Chick continued, “There are a wide array of mobile technologies in the market today but once again a significant public safety organization, with demanding communications requirements, has chosen the proven, high performing MPT 1327 option."
